CAR PLUNGES 20 FEET

DRIVER GETS OFF LIGHTLY DAZZLED BY HEADLIGHTS (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, Monday. When his car fell 20ft down a bank, Mr. A. Crosby escaped with a sprained ankle and bruises. Mr. Crosby was driving down Beban's Hill on Saturday evening when he was met by a car coming up. Being dazzled by the lights he drove across the road, and the car toppled over the side of the road and turned two somersaults before it came to rest at the bottom of the bank, a drop of about 20ft.

The hood of the car was smashed and one of the rear.wheels was torn from the axle.
