At Dixieland
Dixieland was gaily decorated on Saturday evening when a comfortable crowd of dancers thronged the floor of the popular cabaret, leaving just sufficient room for everyone to dance with- j out being continually jostled. The band, under the baton of Mr. Harry Neilson, was delightfully versatile and responded to numerous requests for special numbers. Among those present were: Mrs. C. McCaw, wearing a beaded frock of geranium georgette. Mrs. Eric Waters, in a frock of black georgette embossed with roses. Mrs. E Heighway, draped frock of white georgette. Mrs. Trevor Brett, ankle length frock of ring velvet. Mrs. D. Goodfellow, white georgette frock, embossed with roses and bordered with fur. Mrs. Middleton, black georgette, heavily beaded with crystal. Mrs. Butcher, hyacinth blue georgette, panelled with gold lace. Mrs. Taylor, powder blue frock of ring velvet and lace. Mrs. F. H. Hulbert, rose blush georgette, with overskirt of black lace. Mrs. Osborne, frock of cyclamen georgette. Mrs. Hamilton, Wellington, black marietta frock, appliqued with coloured flcwMrs. Clark, hyacinth blue frock of beaded georgette. Miss Edna Craig, fringed frock of white satin girdled with rhinestones. Miss R. Palmer, frock of rose blush georgette, studded with brilliant embroidery. Miss Janet Clarkson, sea green frock of embroidered georgette. Miss Bettina Edwards, frock of black chiffon velvet, with rhinestone grrdle. Miss Molly Overton, rose embossed frock of black tulle. Miss Nance St. Clair Whyte, powder blue taffeta frock, hemmed with ecru Miss Smith, frock of japonica rose georgette. Miss' Olive King, black and white embossed frock. Miss Wingate, frock of rose lustre georgette under black shawl. Miss Gloria Taylor, black ring velvet frock, with rhinestone embroiderv. Miss Y. Arlen, tulle draped frock of naples blue shading. Miss Gwen .Court, fringed frock of petunia georgette. STUDENTS’ DANCE HOCKEY FUNCTION Mrs. U. IT. Corbin and Miss M. Bourn© were the hostesses at the annual hockey ball held by the University College students on Saturday evening. The Amateur Syncopators’ Orchestra played a delightful selection of new dance numbers and the hall with its attractive decorations made a charming setting for the prettily-frocked girl students. Mrs. Corbin was wearing a beaded frock of ficelle georgette with a vividly coloured shawl. Miss Bourne’s frock was of chartreuse green satin crepe. Among those present were: Miss Li. Cranwell, wearing a beaded frock of parchment georgette. Miss P. Ford, in a rose blush taffeta frock. Miss Freda Gaudin, frock of ivory satin crepe. Miss O. Gaudin, in peach pink ring velvet Miss J. Colgan, frilled frock of lavender georgette. Miss M. Ford, frock of rose lustre taffeta and lace. Miss P. Mobberley, fur banded frock of cameo pink l'ing velvet. Miss D Buckley, jade green frock of georgette.* Miss A. Lee, chenille embossed frock of mist blue georgette. Miss ,T. Forman, opal blue embossed satin crepe. Miss D. Buckingham, frock of rose du barri chiffon. Miss K. Dunning, Spanish raisin georgette. Miss IT. West, apple green taffeta frock. Miss S. Bircher, cinder rose georgette frock.
