TIMARU CELEBRATES SIXTIETH ANNIVERSARY

TOWN GAILY DECORATED LUNCHEON TO PIONEERS Press Association . TIMARTJ, Friday. The 60th anniversary of the constitution of the Borough of Timaru is being celebrated appropriately to-day. A celebration was postponed in 191 S on account of the war then raging. The borough was formed on July 13 IS6B. During the interval there have been 21 mayors and three town clerks. The Government is represented by the Hort. F. J. Rolleston, AttorneyGeneral. The celebration took the; form of a monster procession, tree planting, a luncheon to pioneers, children’s sports, and other festivities. This will conclude with a grand ball to-night. The town is gaily bedecked with flags and other decorations, and the greatest enthusiasm prevails throughout.
