AUTOMATIC RAIN REGISTER. —A new automatic rain gauge which has been installed by a local body in the South. A gauge of this kind would be useful for observation work by meteorological recorders in Auckland. An accurate measurement of rainfall, from hour to hour, is secured by a needle which records the fluctuations on a revolving cylindrical chart.
