EYE OF FLIGHT
AUCKLAND’S INVITATION
NO REPLY FROM KINGSFORD SMITH Though the Pacific flyers, headed by Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith, may leave Australia for New Zealand at any moment now, no reply has been received to the invitation to visit Auckland. The Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, sent a cablegram inviting the flyers to visit Auckland after landing at Christchurch, and to make Auckland the final call. The local opinion, however, is that the Australian airman will wait until reaching New Zealand before making his plans. He will then have all the information he desires in connection with landing places. BROADCASTING PLANS (Special to THE SUN) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Arrangements have been made for the rebroadcasting from the Wellington station of messages sent out from the Southern Cross from the commencement of the flight across the Tasman. A description of the landing will be broadcast from Christchurch, and rebroadcast from 2YA.
