HANGED IN BUSH
SETTLER’S GHASTLY FIND PLOUGHMAN MISSED FOR 12 MONTHS (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, To-day. The ghastly discovery of a body hanging from a tree in dense bush was made by a settler on Wednesday.
When mustering cattle in dense bush 1 i miles from Orere Point, Hauraki Gulf, on Wednesday, a young settler, Mr. Alex. Ashley, discovered a body hanging from a tree. The police believe it to be that of James Reid Turnbull, 59 years, a ploughman on Rowlands Station, Orere, who disappeared on June 6 last year. Search parties unsuccessfully scoured the country at the time. The coroner and police left Papakura this morning to conduct an inquest.
