WAIKATO HOSPITAL
DELIBERATIONS OF BOARD The Waikato Hospital Board met yesterday, Mr. Campbell Johnstone presiding. Advice was received that a committee of lluntly residents was taking steps to provide the Huntly district with a free ambulance. A reply to the criticism by the Health Department’s inspector of the two wards recently added to the Waikato Hospital was received from the board’s architect, Mr. J. W. Warren. The inspector had adversely criticised certain features of the work. Mr. Warren said the question of cost was involved. He suggested that in future building works should be inspected by the department’s officers prior to a final certificate being given to the contractor. The report was received. Approval of the board’s proposal to refrigerating plant at the Waikato Hospital at a cost of £BOO was received from the Health Department
