THEFT AT HASTINGS

KEYS OF SAFE FOUND Press Association HASTINGS, Tuesday. A sum of £4B has been taken from the shop of Messrs. Phillips and Wright, furnishers. The takings were placed in the safe on Saturday evening and when the manager visited the shop on Sunday he found the money had disappeared. It was the practice of the firm to put the keys of the safe in a corner of the shop, where apparently they had been found by the unwelcome visitor. There is no evidence of how the thief entered the premises.
