RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“CHANG” TO-NIGHT Ever has man striven against the jungle. This is the theme of ‘Chang, now showing at. the Rialto and Regen*. (Epsom) Theatres. From the dawn of time, man has hacked his way, mace a clearing, and begun his fight againr. the jungle. The clearing has oft-times grown, a village has come, and then perhaps a city, and then the jungle wins, and a civilisation that was, is destroyed before the encroachments of nature. In the jungle we meet Kru, t Lao tribesman, who is hacking * clearing for himself and family. The trees are felled, and because wild beasts take no heed of man or be&s; Kru’s home is built on stilts. On t hi tiny clearing, in the almost lmp€«*. trable jungle, Kru and his family hop* to live. The adventures of Kru and his family, admirably portrayed in “Chang.' are inexpressibly exciting. The supporting picture is “Sir Lumberjack,” with Lefty Flynn.
