AUCKLAND HORSES NOMINATED

A new record for the Gisborne Racing Club’s steeplechase meeting has been set by the nominations received for the forthcoming fixture, to be held on the Park course on July 26 and 28. In all, there are 106 horses nominated for the various events, and no fewer than 4S are from stables outside Poverty Bay. Both the number of nominations, and the proportion hailing from other centres constitute new figures for the steeplechase meeting, and if the acceptances are in line with the nominations, the meeting should be the most attractive of the winter gatherings held by the club for a long time.
