TRAGEDY IN SILESIA PLAYING WITH A GRENADE (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Times Cable. LONDON, Monday. The Berlin correspondent of “The Times” says a tragic explosion occurred on Wednesday last near Kattowitz, Silesia. Some children were in a field where they found a hand grenade. They played with it and it exploded. Eight of the children were killed and 14 others were seriously injured. This is the second such tragedy within a week. A London cablegram of last Wednesday read:— A message from Tarnowitz (Prussia) states that a number of children found and played with a hand grenade, which suddenly exploded. Six of them were killed and four were injured.
