A MESSAGE from Spitsbergen states that Ceceioni, the Italia’s engineer, succumbed to the injuries he received when the airship crashed. Two others are seriously ill. Commandant Madalena failed to find Captain Sora, who set out in search of Professor Malmgren’s trekking party. Maddalena saw Sora’s trail, and is, convinced that he has fallen a victim to polar bears.
