DAIRY CONTROL BOARD

CRITICISM IN SOUTH ABSOLUTE CONTROL WANTED Press Association INVERCARGILL, Sunday. At a well-attended meeting of dairy factory directors and suppliers yesterday, held under tho auspices of the South Island Dairy Association, the opinion was freely expressed that, by tho abandonment of the absolute control policy, the Dairy Produce Board had brought about a serious calamity to the industry and was not now functioning in the best interest of the producers. After long discussion, in the course of which individual members of the board, including Mr. T. M. Timpany, who was present, came in for a good deal of criticism, a motion was carried urging the necessity for the reappointment to the chairmanship of the board of Mr. W. Grounds. It was decided to request the Government not to allow commercial interests to have representation on the board.
