Over Two Hundred Lives Lost In Fourth of July Rejoicings
(United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) Reed. 9.5 a.m. _ CHICAGO, Thursday. A TOTAL of 205 lives was sacrificed in the Fourth of July (Independence Day) celebrations throughout the United States. There were 106 drownings. Fifty-four deaths were the result of motor accidents, 12 people died from the heat, and 11 were killed by exploding fireworks.
