New Airship As Large As Atlantic Liner
British Official Wireless Reed. 10.45 a.m. RUGBY, Thursday. Many members of Parliament and Dominion High Commissioners to-day visited the new British 5,000,000 cubic feet airship RIOO at the Howden Airdrome, Yorkshire. The airship is as large as an Atlantic liner, and is fitted with wide carpeted staircases, dining rooms and a lounge furnished like a hotel. Its six Rolls-Rovce-Condor engines were given a prolonged test yesterday and to-day, and when the other trials are passed the airship will emerge from her huge hangar and fly to the Cardington Air Station, where it will be attached to a specially-moored mooring-mast. Probably in the autumn it will fly to Canada, when it is expectc® Captain Scott, who has flown the Atlantic each way by airship, will command her.
