OHAKUNE GUN CLUB
GOOD SHOOTING RECORDED (From Our Oxen Correspondent.) OHAKUNE, Wednesday. There was a good attendance at the opening of the Ohakune Gun Club on Mr. Goldfinch’s property on the Rangataua Road. Visitors from Kaitiekc. Raetihi and other parts of the district were present, the opening ceremony being performed by Mr. R- W. Smith. M.P. Mr. Smith presented the club with a gold medal for competition purposes, and the Kaitieke Gun Club also presented a medal. In the open club shoot handicaps, competition was very keen, and resulted in four competitors tying for first place. The following is the result of the handicaps: Novice shoot (possible. 3 birds).—-J. Jones 5. E. Vitsky 4. Open Club Handicap (possible, 5 birds). —E. Vitsky, Pitts, D| Todd, P. Goldfinch tied, with 4 birds each. Club Handicap (possible, 5 birds).— A. Webb. 5; Pitts. Veitch, Tapg. P. Goldfinch. J. Jones tied for second place with three birds each.
