LITTLE GIRL KILLED
knocked down by LORRY returning from school A five-year-old girl, Ngatai Farmer, was knocked down by a meat-van in Dominion Road yesterday, receiving injuries from which she died a few minutes later. The girl had just come out of the Brixton Road School, and was standing in the centre of the road. She made ' dash for the footpath as the van. which was owned by Messrs. R. and V Hellaby, Ltd., was approaching. One wheel passed over hex. She was taken to the house of Dr. John Dreadon, nearby, but died almost immediately. Her parents live •t 54 Milton Road. An inquest, opened this morning before Mr. W. R- McKean, S.M., was adjourned after formal evidence of identification had been taken.
