WAKATERE CANOE CLUB

SECOND PRIZE-GIVING SOCIAL AND DANCE The second annual prize-giving of the Wakatere Canoe Club, held in Narrow Keck Hall, took the form of social and dance, and an enjoyable time was spent. Mr. J. Brooke, commodore of the club, gave a speech and also read the “official” log to t'he amusement of those present. The Misses Ardley gave h piano duet, Mr. Hutchings played a piano solo, and Miss Stevenson, Mrs. Hunt, Mr. Hunt and Mr. Wing were heard as a / quartet. Mr. K. Stephenson presented the prizes, among which were two silvermounted shields and a silver-mounted paddle. Prize-winners were: Aggregate Sailing Shield.—R. Hunt and S. Hughes, 1; J. Hunt and B.
