Princess To Marry Author’s Son
BERLIN, Monday. Herr Benvenuto Hauptmann, son of Herr Gerhardt Hauptmann, the veteran author, is engaged to Princess Elizabeth of Schaumburglipe. The princess belongs to one of the richest princely families in Europe. The ex-Kaiser implacably but vainly tried to ruin Herr Gerhardt Hauptmann, as he regarded the latter’s most famous book, “The Weavers,” as an incitement to the working class to rebel.
