AVERY HOPWOOD DROWNED
POPULAR PLAYWRIGHT TRAGIC DEATH NEAR NICE (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) (United Service) Reed. Noon. LONDON, Monday. Mr. Avery the plaj'wright, was drowned while bathing at Juan-les-Pins, near Nice. Mr Avery Hopwood was born at Cleveland, Ohio, and educated at the University of Michigan. Pie went to New York as special correspondent of the Cleveland “Leader” in 1905. His plays include “This Woman and This man,” “Seven Days” (with Murray Roberts Rinehart), “Judy Forgot,” “Nobody’s Widow” (produced in England as “Roxana”), “Fair and Warmer,” “Sadie Love,” “Our Little Wife,” “Double Exposure,” “The Gold-diggers,” “The Bat,” and “Spanish Love” (with Mary Roberts Rinehart), “The Girl in the Limousine,” “Ladies’ Night,” “The Best People” and “The Garden of Eden.” 4
