MAN’S SUDDEN DEATH

COLLAPSED IN TAXICAB AT DEVONPORT Mr. John Alexander Wilson, a retired painter, died sudenly at Devonporfc last evening. He was a widower, aged 70, and lived in St. Leonards Road, Devonport, near his son. Passengers on the 9 p.m. ferry from Auckland to Devonport noticed he was very unwell. The mate of the boat hurried him ashore, and into a taxi. The driver, after leaving the wharf, found his fare had collapsed, and drove to Lr. J. J. Eade. All efforts to restore consciousness failed. A certificate of death from heart failure has been issued.
