TAURANGA CALLS FOR EAST COAST LINE PROTEST AGAINST TAUPO PLAN (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAURANGA, Monday. General dissatisfaction is expressed throughout the Bay of Plenty at the Government's pre'•rence for the Taupo line against extension of the East Coast line. Strong protests have been sent by -ns Bay of Plenty Development League Tauranga Chamber of Commerce, minting out that the East Coast has a ’ nor claim from a financial and settleent point of view, and that it would r? more fully in the interest of the tK Qun^on to proceed with the Taneltl *a extension.
