JUDGMENT FOR CHARLIE Judgment equivalent to £15,000 was awarded by a jury to Charles Chaplin, | this amount representing the comedian’g share of receipt on sales abroad of “The Kid.” William M. Vogel, who sold the Chaplin picture in foreign territories, j for First National, secured a gross of £60,000 from December, 1920, to Sep-, tember, 1925. The distributor re- 1 mitted £38,000 to Chaplin as the j latter's share, but the star considered ! he was entitled to 70 per cent.
