RHYTHM ESSENTIAL

MOTION PICTURE ACTING COLLEEN MOORE’S OPINION Colleen Moore believes that rhythm is as essential to motion picture acting as it is to dancing or music. “Tempo plays a vital part in de- t picting various emotions in moving , pictures/’ says the comedy actress. I “One must time gestures and movements in accordance with the mood of a scene, and a sense of rhythm is necessary in order to keep the scene at a proper speed throughout. “Inexperienced players frequently spoil the effectiveness of an otherwise excellent bit of dramatic work through lack of rhythm.” Miss Moore before beginning a screen career studied music for several years at the Detroit Conservatory.
