SAMARITAN ROBBED
YOUTH’S INGRATITUDE Allen Arthur Lewer, aged 19, who appeared at the Police Court to-day, was a youth who bit the hand that fed him. He pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing clothing and a travelling bag valued at £l4 10s, the property of Thomas Butler. Chief-Detective Hammond said accused was walking from Hamilton, and he was given food and shelter at Huntly by Butler. “He reciprocated by stealing all he could,” added Mr. Hammond. Accused was remanded to appear for sentence on Wednesday next.
