Railway Mystery

LIMITED GETS A JAR r JDHE North-bound Limited, which arrived in Auckland this morning, received a had hump last night, and the cause so far is a mystery. When between Marion and Taihape, passengers in the front of the train thought one of the carriages had left the rails, such was the behaviour of the train. It was aftericards found that the jarring and bumping had been felt throughout the train. A few minutes later the train ivas stopped, and for 20 minutes a thorough examination of the train and the track yeas made. Nothing was found to indicate the cause of the peculiar behaviour, and the train continued on its trip, arriving in Auckland six minutes late. The impression was that there must have been some obstruction on the line over which the whole of the train passed.
