MAINTENANCE CLAIMED REMANDED TO AUCKLAND Press Association. PAH lAT DA. To-day. The maintenance case, adjourned from Hamilton, in which J. B. Westlake, a well-known resident, living for some time past in the Waikato, is engaged, was further adjourned to Auckland for evidence and the defendant was further admitted to bail for £SO. Westlake, who is a Justice of the Peace, is said to be a very wealthy man. He is separated by agreement from his wife, who lives here. The latter instituted proceedings, allegations being made that Westlakp was about to leave the Dominion \Xthout making provision for her. Counsel argued the matter at length and Westlake’s solicitor complained strongly against his arrest and the proceedings at Hamilton, characterising them as disgraceful.
