Mr. Havelock "Wilson, president of i the British Seamen's Union, published a long letter from Mr. Tom Walsh, who was president of the Australian Seamen's Union during the British seamen’s strike. The letter, which was written on May 19, renounces Communism, suggesting that the International Seamen’s Club in Australia was financed from Moscow with the object of destroying Britain’s communications with the Dominions. Mr. Walsh refuses to stand by to see the seamen made the tools of Moscow, and he urges Mr. Wilson to counteract this by opening union . agencies in Australia. Mr. Wilson told the Australian Press Association that he was gratified Mr. Walsh was dropping the Communists, dissociating himself from the militant gang which was endeavouring to destroy Australian unionism.
