TUNNEY VERY FIT
COMING HF.ENEY FIGHT FEARS OF STALENESS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) NEW YORK, Tuesday. Mr. W. Gibson, manager for Gene Tunney, the world's heavy-weight champion boxer, to-day saw the latter in the ring at his training camp at Speculator, New York State, for the first time since the champion’s last bout with Jack Dempsey. He expressed surprise at the boxer’s excellent condition, but expressed the fear that he might go stale before his fight for the title with Tom Heeney, of New Zealand, on July 26. Tunney stepped briskly through three whirlwind rounds with sparring partners in the presence several hundred spectators. At Newark, New Jersey, Heeney made his last public appearance today prior to his meeting with Tunney. This was at a local match. He was greeted by cheers when he was introduced from the ring.
