GIRLS’ SPORTS GROUND
AREA AT MARKET ROAD The Ways-and-Means Committee of the Auckland Girls’ Athletic Association last evening discussed plans for raising funds preparatory to taking over the lease of the Remuera hockey ground in Market Road. Mrs. A. D. Campbell, Mayoress of Auckland, was in the chair. On November 3 the property will be under the jurisdiction of the association. and after that date the area will be known as the Girls’ Sports Ground. It was stated that 1,000 collecting cards had already been issued, and it was intended to organise an athletic competition in which girls’ sports bodies will take pa rt. Miss R. Dawson was elected organising secretary.
