The engagement is announced of Fyvie Carolyn, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Tannock-Dawson, Kemuera, to Kusseii Alexander, eldest son of Mr. and the late Mrs. D. H. Wilcox, Lucerne Road, Remuera. The engagement is announced of Ivy May, eldest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Charles Mills, of Mount Wellington Highway, Otahuhu, to Norman Robert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Alderton, of Mataura, Southland. When making scones, grate any odd, left-over scraps of cheese and stir into the flour. Wet a piece of tissue-paper and roll tightly round cucumbers and other vegetables; it will keep them fresh for days.
