MISSION TO SEAMEN

SUCCESSFUL ENTERTAINMENT An enjoyable entertainment was arranged on Monday evening by Miss Harrison and members of the Royal Oak Dramatic Society under the auspices of the Harbour Lights Guild, in aid of the funds of the Seamen’s Mission. A large audience was present and th© following items were much appreciated : —• Albert Symphony Orchestra, Mr. G. PI. Har.dey, conductor; song, Miss Violet Harrison; song, Mr. A. Fryer-Raisher; .violin, Master Joe Pelham; song, Mrs. Armstrong Kevin; humorous sketch, “The Crystal Gazer,’’ in which characters were cast as follows: Miss Bessie Blank, Miss Iris Higginson; the Black Magician, Mr. Eric Blow; vocal duet, Messrs. Bennett and Pitkins; song, Mrs. Armstrong Kevin; scarf dance, Miss Jessamine Kirkwood; song, Miss Mai'jorie Fair; a one-act play, entitled “The Wrong Flat,’’ with the following cast: Ernest Barrington (a lawyer), Mr. Ross Waters; Billings (his servant), Mr. Wynne Gray; Tobias Puddicombe, Mr. Orford; Mrs. Puddicombe, Miss Violet Harrison; Joyce (their daughter), Miss Cynthia Valentine; Monsieur Alphonse Petitpois (a Frenchman), Mr. Eric Blow; Madame Ernestine Petitpois (his English wife), Miss Vida Cramond, concluded an excellent programme. Mrs. Partridge was at the piano.
