WAIPA UNION AFFAIRS (From Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. The weekly meeting of the Waipa Rugby Union Management Committee was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs. F. Quin (president), G. Jeffs, A. A. Reese, C. W. Mairs. H. Mabbett, G. Reynolds, F. Tickelpenny, W. Cavanagh, M. Finch, W. Whitton and the secretary, Mr. H. T. Haselden. It was stated that three Waipa players P. K. Quin. L. Kay and E. Holmes have been selected for the Waikato rep. team, which plays Auckland reps at Auckland next Saturday. Matamata Union notified that Waipa’s challenge for the Boyce Cup was fixed for July 28. It was decided to accept the Matamata Union’s invitation for a senior rep. game at Matamata on July 7. Mr. P. J. Doyle, Auckland, donated a cup for competition among the junior teams. The chairman stated that representatives of all bodies using Albert Park were invited to a meeting next Friday to consider holding a carnival to raise £SOO to provide additional buildings. THAMES FIXTURES At a meeting of the Thames Rugby Union on Monday night, the following fixture list was approved: June 30, club matches; July 7, v. Paeroa; July 14, v. Tauranga; July 21, v. Auckland; July 28, club matches or v. South Auckland; August 4, club matches or v. South Auckland; August 11, v. Plains; August 18, club matches or v. Bay of Plenty; August 25, club matches; September 1, v. Auckland; September 8, v. Hamilton (Peace Cup); September 15, club matches; September 22, v. Hauraki Plains; September 29, club matches; October 9, v. Tauranga; October 13, club matches; Octo- [ ber 20, knock-out competition.
