LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT

PpHE crew of the American steamer, Golden Coast, which arrived at Auckland last evening from Pacific Coast ports of America claim to have among them the tallest and also the shortest men now at sea. Slim, a deck boy, rises to a height of 6ft 9in (at least so he says himself, but his comrades swear he is nearer 7ft). Angus, a seaman, is but 4ft high.
