WINTER SHOW

BETTER THAN LAST YEAR ENTRIES FROM KING COUNTRY The Winter Show this year will be much better than last year, according 1 to Mr. W. F. O’Donnell, secretary of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Better entries have been made in nearly all sections. In the root section excellent entries have been received, many coming from Te Kuiti. It is a cause for regret that better entries have not been received after this show, so that the respective having entered, compared with six last year. The committee proposes to arrange the district courts immediately after his show, so that the respective districts can organise their resources, thus ensuring more entries next year. The following are the sections and the entries to date, last year’s fignres being given in parentheses:—Butter, 259 (257); cheese. 110 (139); farmers’ butter, 22 (12); honey, 28 (18); flax. 2 (2); district courts, 2 (6); roots and vegetables, 118 (111); fruit, 22 (17); home industries, 286 (249); needlework, 729 (400); art and photographs, 248 (222); and schools, 9 (9). The floor space at the show is now practically all occupied, and it will be difficult to find space for more exhibits unless only small areas are required.
