GIRLS’ MATCHES FIXED THIRTEEN ENTRIES TO HAND There was a large attendance of delegates at last evening’s meeting of the Auckland Ladies’ Hockey Association. Waipa, Whangarei, Tauranga. Kaipara and Rotorua sub-associations were also represented. The Papatoetoe Club has withdrawn its application for admittance of a second team in the association’s competitions It was decided that, with a view to raising funds for touring teams, the association erect a stall at the Winter Show for the purpose of selling sweets, cakes, produce, etc., the stall to be conducted by all clubs in turn. Miss P. Dawson, chairman, was elected the association’s delegate to attend a meeting of country team managers on the morning of July 2, and Mrs. Clark was nominated as selector for country week, which will commence on Monday afternoon next. Miss McLachlan was appointed to fill a vacancy on the grounds committee, vice Miss Brown, resigned. Thirteen entries were received for the provincial cup to be competed for during next week. The competitors consist of senior, junior and collegiate teams from Auckland and the following country teams: Franklin (2), Tauranga, Thames, Hauraki Plains, Kaipara, Whangarei, Waipa, Waikato and Whakatane. The junior grade championship points as at end of first round, which terminated on Saturday last, were announced as follows: —Papakura, 12; Mount Eden, 10; Technical, 9; Papatoetoe, 8; Y.W.C.A. A, 7; Somerville, 4; Wesley, 3; Y.W.C.A. B, 3. It was decided to postpone all games on Saturday next to allow of a representative practice being held. DRAW OF MATCHES The teams were divided into three sections and the draw made out as follows: A Section.—First round: Franklin B v. Collegiate; Whakatane v. Hauraki Plains. Second round: Franklin B v. Whakatane; Hauraki Plains v. Collegiate. Third round: Hauraki Plains v. Franklin B; Collegiate v. W'hakatane. B Section.—First round: Kaipara v. Waipa; Auckland B v. Whangarei. Second round: Kaipara v. Whangarei; Auckland B v. Waipa. Third round: Kaipara v. Auckland B; Waipa v. Whangarei. C Section.—First round: Auckland A v. Waikato; Thames v. Franklin A; Tauranga, a bye. Second round: Auckland A v. Tauranga; Waikato v. Franklin A; Thames, a bye. Third round: Auckland A v. Franklin A; Thames v. Tauranga: Waikato, a bye. Fourth round: Auckland A v. Thames; Tauranga v. Waikato; Franklin A, a bye. Fifth round: Waikato v. Thames; Franklin A v. Tauranga; Auckland A, a bye. JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVES The following team has been selected to repesent the Auckland junior ladies at next week’s tourney: Goal, Miss M. Matthews (Y.W.C.A.); fullbacks, Misses L. Harrison (Wesley) and M. Lamond (Wesley); halves, Misses E. Rhodes (Mount Eden), J. Scott (Somerville), and B. 6hapman (Wesley); forwards, Misses M. Bathgate (Weslev), B. Fraser (Y.W.C.A.), M. Francis (Mount Eden), L. Claudet (Somerville), and D. Short (Mount Eden). Reserves: Misses J. Sansen (Somerville), B. Gardham (Technical), N. Tuckey (Papakura), and M. Wright (Technical).
