BUSES TO RACES
RIGHT TO RUN IN DOUBT QUESTION OF LICENCES The running of private buses to cater for special traffic, such as race traffic to Epsom and Ellerslie, Has caused the City Council and other authorities serious thought. The question was again before the No. 1 Licensing Authority this afternoon, the town clerk reporting on the history of special services, and stating that the Public Works Department had suggested the taking of a test case to determine their right to run. The town clerk’s opinion was that the Government could best deal with the question of whether or not a licence was necessary to run the services. (Proceeding.)
