PURIRI TENNIS CLUB DANCE
The first annual ball of the Puriri Tennis Club, held in St. Barnabas's Hall on Saturday evening, proved a decided attraction for a large number of members and their friends. Mr. Palmer as M.C. and a dance committee consisting of Miss Shepherd, Mesrs. Doull, Wardrop and Carter carried out all arrangements efficiently, a feature being the brilliant “decoration of the hall. The chaperons were Mrs. Shepherd, in black panne velvet relieved with coral pink and brilliant trimming, and Mrs. Carter, in black taffeta. Others present included: Miss Clark, in black panne velvet. Miss Webb, shrimp-coloured satin, with diamante trimmings. Miss W. Jessup, apricot crepe de chine. Miss E. Bullions, coral beaded georgette. Miss F.. Barnes, mauve sequin georgette. Miss V. Middleton, black georgette, with oriental shawl. Miss Beere, flame taffeta. Miss D. Shepherd. Chinese blue satin crepe de chine, with silver trimmings. Miss E. Carter, black silk ring velvet. Miss N. Jessup, cherry red velvet. Miss W. Barnes, ivory crepe de chine. Miss E. McGill, turquoise blue crepe de chine. Miss R. Crabb, flame crepe de chine. Miss G. Cunningham, lemon beaded georgette. Miss D. Anderson, embossed ivorv crepe de chine. Miss D. Eccles, pale pink crepe de chine. Mrs. Galland, blue satin, with pink trimmings. Miss A. Bennie, ivory taffeta, with brilliant trimming-. Miss Carruthers, turquoise blue crepe de chine. Miss J. Goulding, chemise blue crene de chine. Miss L. Eccles, pale blue taffeta. Miss Godfrey, apricot taffeta. Miss Badger, rose pink georgette. Miss Staple, rose pink marocain. Miss E. Seymour, powder blue crepe de chine. Miss Ovens, green satin, with silver trimmings. Miss M. Laurie, green georgette. Miss Tanfield, gold armure. Miss C. Bayer, pink crepe de chine. Miss Mitchell, floral silk frock. Miss P. Elliott, lemon crepe de chine. Miss Sanders, green crepe de chine. Miss Davis, kingfisher satin crepe.
