ROTORUA, To-day. j The judicial committee of the Rotoj rua Racing Club on Friday and Sat- | urday last heard a charge against C. ' N. Carmont, jockey, and found: “That C. N. Carmont was a party to a conspiracy that Dress Circle should win the Pohutu Highweight Handicap on February 11, 1928; that Lady Cintra should win the Tarawera Highweight Handicap on February 13, 1928, and disqualify him under rule 32, section 1, part N of the Rules of Racing, for 12 months from this date.” The personnel of the committee was: Dr. H. Bertram, Messrs. A. H. Tripe, M. H. Hampson and F. F. Hockly. Last Thursday week the judicial committee of the Rotorua Racing Club announced the disqualification of jockeys W. Rennie and A. J. Gilmer (twelve months each) and J. Mcßea (six months) for corrupt practices in connection with the two Highweight Handicaps run at the Rotorua meeting in February last. Charges made against a fourth jockej', C. Carmont, were held over on account of this rider’s ill-health, which precluded him from attending the inquiry. Rennie and Mcßae have both appealed against their disqualification, and their appeals are expected to be considered by the Auckland District Committee next Thursday. Up to midday today no appeal had been lodged by Gilmer.
