Great Damascus Fire
HALF CITY DESTROYED HALF A MILLION DAMAGE (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Times Cable. Reed. noon. LONDON, Friday. The Damascus correspondent of “The Times” states the best part of the city, including the hotels, a valuable museum, 300 houses, and 70 shops, were destroyed by fire. The damage is £OO,OOOO. French soldiers employed dynamite to arrest the outbreak, and are taking measures against looting.
