“TOWN TOFFS” BALL AT TE AWAMUTU
The Te Awamutu Town Hall was crowded on Wednesday evening, when the "Town Toffs" gave a complimentary ball, at which the "Country Bumpkins" were the guests of honour. The hall had been attractively decorated for the occasion and Hildredth’s (Hamilton) Jazz Orchestra provided excellent music. About 120 couples occupied the floor during the early part of the evening. The supper-room was decorated to tone with the hall decorations. Dance extras were contributed by Alisses Bevan and Alanson. Eugene Sullivan, Brett Avenue, Taka puna, on Alonday, the proceeds being in aid of the Takapuna Plunket Society. Airs. Sullivan received her guests in a frock of beige georgette with heavy gold embroidery. Jonquils and narcissi were used to good effect to decorate the lounge and other rooms. Cutten and Miss Berry.
