Tennis Dance

Annual Function at Man lireiva The Theatre Royal, Manurewa, was the scene of a very successful function last evening, when the Manurewa Tennis Club held its annual ball. There was a good attendance of members of the club, and visitors were present in large numbers from all the surrounding districts. A splendid programme of musical numbers was supplied by the Astonian Orchestra, and extras played by Miss L. Grant, Messrs. J. Murray, A. Donaldson and P. Bradburn. The stage was bright with masses of greenery, mingled with hundreds of brilliantly-coloured balloons. The supper room was decked with bowls of narcissi, and the club's colours. The duties of M.C.’s were carried out by Messrs. D. Warlich, L. M. Pegler, P. Bradburn. L. Miller. B. Pegler. Among those present were: Mrs. L. H. Pegler, wearing a frock of petal pink georgette. Mrs. W. G. Moody, frock of cream georgette. Mrs. Whit ford, cinnamon lace frock and dawn pink shawl. Miss M. Grindrod, frock of peacock crepe de chine, with silver lace and diamante. Miss G. Pegler, apricot satin frock, with insets of lace. Miss W. Fall well, frock of apricot taffeta. Miss N. Dempsey, black ring velvet frock and French shawl. Miss L.
