Annual Function at Man lireiva The Theatre Royal, Manurewa, was the scene of a very successful function last evening, when the Manurewa Tennis Club held its annual ball. There was a good attendance of members of the club, and visitors were present in large numbers from all the surrounding districts. A splendid programme of musical numbers was supplied by the Astonian Orchestra, and extras played by Miss L. Grant, Messrs. J. Murray, A. Donaldson and P. Bradburn. The stage was bright with masses of greenery, mingled with hundreds of brilliantly-coloured balloons. The supper room was decked with bowls of narcissi, and the club's colours. The duties of M.C.’s were carried out by Messrs. D. Warlich, L. M. Pegler, P. Bradburn. L. Miller. B. Pegler. Among those present were: Mrs. L. H. Pegler, wearing a frock of petal pink georgette. Mrs. W. G. Moody, frock of cream georgette. Mrs. Whit ford, cinnamon lace frock and dawn pink shawl. Miss M. Grindrod, frock of peacock crepe de chine, with silver lace and diamante. Miss G. Pegler, apricot satin frock, with insets of lace. Miss W. Fall well, frock of apricot taffeta. Miss N. Dempsey, black ring velvet frock and French shawl. Miss L. Gallagher, Walton, frock of blue beaded ninon. Miss S. Beaumont, shell pink georgette frock, with frilled skirt. Miss T. Wishart, frock of bois de rose 1 silk chiffon velvet and shawl. Miss D. Cummings, frock of applegreen georgette. Miss V. Woods, white georgette frock, with trimmings of silver lace. Miss Joyce Hewitt, frock of turquoise satin beaute, with reliefs of silver. Miss Mollie Graves, green crepe de chine frock, with touches of black. Miss G. Finlaysdn, frock of black crepe de chine, with gold trimmings. Miss Madge White, Frankton, frock of black, relieved with roses in shades of bronze gold. Miss Q. Kimber. rose beige georgette frock, with trimmings of gold. Miss Lupton, pink satin luxor, worn under an overdress of dawn lace. Miss P. Landon, pretty frock of flame crepe de chine, with side panels of silver lace. Miss B. Byrne, frock of black georgette, daintily embroidered. Miss W. Meikle, amethyst georgette frock, relieved, with shades to tone. Miss Butterworth, frock of cornflower relieved with touches of silver. Miss A. Gibbs, frock of salmon pink crepe de chine. Miss Mary Neale, hyacinth taffeta frock, trimmed with silver lace. Miss J. Fall well, frock in rose and silver brocade.
