Apparently visitors to the United States are not regaled loith liquor, as is the popular belief. In a letter from Chicago to a friend in Auckland, the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, wrote : — “1 have not had a drink since arriving in America, and no one has asked me to have one. Other people who nave returned from here have said that the place is full of liquor. That has not been our experience .”
