SEQUEL TO RAID

OLD MAN FINED £2O Edward Ladbury, aged 70, was fined £2O at the Police Court today for keeping a house of illfame in Albert Street. Ladbury, who pleaded guilty to the charge, was the occupier of a house raided by the police last week. Following the raid, four women and one man were imprisoned. Mr. J. J. Sullivan, who appeared for accused, said that Ladbury had let rooms, but he did not appreciate at first the character of the women. “It was a bad case,” said the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt. “He was taking money from the women and knocking them about.”
