BIRTHDAY DANCE

AT OHAKUNE The Joyland birthday dance held in the Railway Social Hall, Ohakune, on Saturday evening, was a very successful and most enjoyable function. The proceeds will be devoted to the Anglican Church Fund. The hall was attractively decorated with streamers, balloons and greenery, and during the evening fancy hats and squeakers were distributed. Mr. Pitkinsky carried out the duties of M.C. A Monte Carlo dance competition attracted a great deal of attention, and it was won by Miss Morris and Mr. H. Gould. A hidden treasure was found by Mr. Iv. Astley. Among those present were: Mrs. T. Gavin, in scarlet crepe de chine, with gold spray. Mrs. Ashley, shell-pink taffeta. Mrs. Hamlin, lilac crepe de chine, with cream lace insets. Mrs. Stanley, bois de rose paillette. Miss Johns, black ring velvet. Mrs. Trask, peacock blue velvet. Mrs. Woodcock, opal blue chiffon velvet. Mrs. E. Clemett, lavender taffeta frock. Mrs. Burnett, black crepe satin. Mrs. E. List, lemon pailette, with cream lace. Mrs. Berbon, beige crepe de chine. Miss Patersen, rose pink georgette. Miss Bushing, cherry red maroeain. Miss Graham, turquoise blue crepe clef chine and silver lace. Miss Moir, cherry red georgette. Miss Henry, leaf-green maroeain. Miss Eve Zachariah, black and pink georgette. Miss Ben bow, lavender georgette, with ecru lace. Miss T. Pearce, japonica red taffeta, with ecru lace bodice. Miss R.
