FORMAL CITY BUSINESS A formal meeting was held by the City Council this afternoon to conbrm the special rate of Is 6*d for the Purposes of meeting interest and sinkln ® funds on loans raised by the city, an ~ various bodies amalgamated. Tie resolution was made necessary by the addition of Avondale and Tamaki to the city area. Orakei will n°t pay any special rates until next year. The council also considered various a aerations and proposed modifications y alterations to By-law No. 5. mainly dealing with dangerous goods, and 'mine control.
