SCHOOL COMMITTEES’ ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING HELD Questions of interest to Auckland primary schools were discussed at the annual meeting of the Primary School Committees’ Association, held last evening. The chairman, Mr. G. Brownlee, said the year had been a profitable one. Good work has been done, but the time AA'as coming when something Avould have to be done to augment finances. The following officers AA'ere elected for the ensuing year: President, Mr. G. E. Spooner; vice-president, Mr. S. E. Chappell; executive committee, Messrs. R. Rew, B. L. Bagnall, A. W. Brockie, W. C. Woods, ReA\ F. Greenwood, and Mrs. R. BloodAVorth. Mr. W. Dixon was re-elected secretary and treasurer. The meeting rejected a remit from the Mount Roskill committee asking the Education Department to pay travelling allowances to children Avho had to tra\ r el more than a mile to the manual training centre. There was also some discussion concerning open-air schools. It was suggested that one of these might be built by way of experiment.
