MOTH PLANES FOR N.Z.
ARRIVING BY AUGUST NEW TYPE OF ENGINE (Special to THE SUKJ _ CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. According to Major-General R. Young, G.O.C. N.Z. Forces, the eight Moth airplanes ordered by the New Zealand Government will arrive by August. Ma jor-General Young said that there had been delay as a new type of engine was being fitted into the machine by the makers and it had been decided to wait till production of the new type of engine had begun before taking delivery. Four of the machines will be used for training purposes by the New Zealand Government. Two each will be lent to the flying clubs at Auckland and Christchurch. The new engine to be fitted to the Moth is a De Havilland motor of approximately 100 h.p. It will be more powerful than the Cirrus engine, which has until now been the standard power plant of the Moth.
