WAIKAREMOANA POWER

WORK GOING AHEAD FIRST GENERATOR ARRIVES (Special to THE SUN) WELLINGTON, Monday. Work on the Waikaremoana hydroelectric scheme is going ahead so well that it is hoped to complete it easily before the contract date, June 30, 1929. There has been some delay in the shipment of the main plant from England, but this has not affected the position and the first of the generators is hiow on the wharf at Wellington, waiting shipment to Waikokopu. There are still 26 towers to erect on the transmission line and more than half trie cable to run, but the main pipeline is expected to be finished by the end of July.
