FIRE SUPERINTENDENT RESIGNS
39 YEARS’ SERVICE “Superintendent Williams has been a member of the Fire Brigade since its inception,” said the Mayor, Mr. E. H. Potter, at a meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening, when a letter was received from the Fire Brigade intimating that Superintendent Williams was resigning and becoming a life-member. “He has been in the brigade for 39 years,” continued the Mayor, “and he is the only original member left. During that period he has rendered excellent service.” The council placed on record its appreciation of his long and valuable service to the Fire Brigade and the borough.
